A recent customer satisfaction poll of the top 40 online retailers conducted by ForeSee Results has shown Amazon UK score the highest.

Amazon UK was followed by Play.com in second place and QVC.com in third place. The laggards of the group were Ticketmaster and B&Q which comprised the bottom two of the group.

Currys, Freemans and Littlewoods also ended up with low scores.

The survey indicated positive results however, with customer satisfaction increasing 6 per cent year on year, and some companies managing to achieve marked improvements in their online shopping experience. Debenhams increased its ratings by 10 per cent whilst John Lewis managed to increase its result by 9 per cent.

The study surveyed 10,000 shoppers visiting shopping websites in November and December and looked at four factors which are indicators of customer satisfaction including functionality, cost, product range and content.
