Basic grocery costs in the United Kingdom have leapt by as much as 59 per cent during the last three years according to the results of a survey conducted by a price comparison website. The results of the survey suggests that the costs of basic items such as eggs and bread have risen by 18 per cent since 2007. Whilst the cost of tea and rice has shot up by 30 per cent and 50 per cent respectively.
